We are piloting Aira ASL, a free app that provides on-demand American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing. Through a live video call, a trained ASL interpreter helps you communicate and navigate the airport.

Toronto Pearson is proud to be the first airport in Canada to offer Aira ASL.

How it works

You can use Aira ASL on airport Wi-Fi or cellular data (data charges may apply). The service is available on demand while you are at the airport.

  1. Download the Aira ASL App through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Open the app, register with your phone number, and enter the authentication code.
  3. Tap “Connect with an Interpreter” to start a video call with a live ASL interpreter. For more detailed instructions, view the Aira ASL guide.
