Noise Accountability Board

The Noise Accountability Board (NAB) is an industry working group that helps set the strategic direction of noise management at Pearson, including the delivery of our Noise Management Action Plan, and other initiatives related to airport growth.

Members include representatives from the GTAA, NAV CANADA, airlines, Transport Canada, provincial government bodies and regional and municipal planning departments. Some members also attend other forums to hear from members of the community.

Neighbourhood Tables

The Neighbourhood Table provides a forum for community stakeholders who represent residents or ratepayer associations and community groups who have knowledge of and interest in airport operations.

Topics include updates on our progress toward the Noise Management Action Plan, as well as other initiatives related to airport growth that may result in changes to aircraft noise impacts.
If your community group/association is impacted by airport noise, and would like to be a part of the Neighbourhood Table, please contact us at community.engagement@gtaa.com.

Political Briefings

Three times a year, we host Political Briefings for all levels of government on noise management initiatives. Briefings also include progress against our Noise Management Action Plan, and other initiatives related to airport growth that may result in changes to aircraft noise impacts.

Community Advisory Committees and Reference Panels

Called on an ad-hoc basis, these advisory committees and panels offer the opportunity for residents to contribute to the development of airport noise policies for specific elements of the Noise Management Action Plan.

Community-Proposal Review Process

The GTAA has added a new engagement format to the Noise Management Forums: the Community Proposal Review Process (CPRP). The CPRP is a formalized, transparent and streamlined process for the review of community-submitted noise mitigation proposals.

To submit a noise mitigation proposal to the Toronto Pearson Noise team for review and consideration under the CPRP, please consult the Process backgrounder before completing the online questionnaire form, as it will help you in completing the application. Please note that only submissions meeting the criteria listed in the backgrounder and on the form will be considered for further study.

External Process Audit

Every two years, a third-party review of the airport's activities and progress towards the Noise Management Action Plan will be undertaken and publicly reported. This is currently on pause due to financial constraints.

If you have any questions about how our noise management forums work, please email us at community.engagement@gtaa.com.
