Canadian Airports Safety Week 2024

Winners of our cash draw announced!

Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the 2024 Canadian Airports Safety Week (CASW).

This year, we continued to demonstrate the Toronto Pearson spirit of innovation while celebrating CASW with an all-new format, the Toronto Pearson Safety Program Cash Cab. The week was a fun and dynamic opportunity for us all to refresh and show off our health, safety and security knowledge, and to win some great prizes.

The Toronto Pearson Safety team engaged hundreds of workers in person around the airport and online, and we couldn't be happier with the response to this year’s programming.

Toronto Pearson employees clearly understand that elevating our safety & security culture is a team sport! Thank you for another year of learning, sharing, growing and engaging to create a culture of health, safety and security excellence together at Pearson.

CASW 2024

Canadian Airports Safety Week (CASW) is a national event that emphasizes the role that all Canada’s airport workers play in maintaining a safe and secure working environment. Led by the Canadian Airports Council, this annual event offers an opportunity for airports across the country to join forces and strengthen work practices that build and maintain a culture of safety and security.

The 2024 CASW will be celebrated at 20 airports across the country between September 23 to 27. Toronto Pearson airport workers are invited to participate in our on-site and online activities across the airport community.

As a leader in airport safety and security, Pearson sets the bar for innovation and demonstrates a track record for continuous advancement. This year our theme is Safety & Security Excellence and our programming features exciting opportunities for all Toronto Pearson airport employees to engage in person and online.

How you can participate in this year’s CASW

In-person activities

This year, we are celebrating CASW with a fun, new approach, bringing CASW directly to the workers of Toronto Pearson in the ‘Safety Cash Cab.’

Over the week, the Safety Cash Cab will show up in different locations across the airport, from the terminals to remote sites. In the Safety Cash Cab, the Toronto Pearson Safety team will offer airport employees the opportunity to test their knowledge on our daily safety and security themes. Participants will win on-the-spot rewards as well as entry into our daily draw for a cash prize!

Refresh your safety and security knowledge, then keep an eye out for the Safety Cash Cab!

Online

For those who are not on site during CASW, or who miss the Safety Cash Cab in their area, we have daily opportunities to participate and win big with our online learning and quizzes.

Check out our daily content below, review the key safety and security reminders for each day, then take the quiz. Every day is a new chance to learn and to win our daily draw for a cash prize!

For extra credit (and another shot at winning the daily prize draw), take the courses mentioned at the end of each day’s lessons and submit a screenshot of the completed course to safety@gtaa.com.

Daily Themes

Each day's theme highlights a crucial aspect of Pearson’s culture of safety and security excellence. Together these themes showcase the teams and departments that work hard to ensure that Pearson continues to represent the highest standard in safety and security.
