Discounted fares on GO Transit

The GO Transit Fare Pilot Program will be extended to the end of January 2025. Effective September 21, 2024, the fare subsidy will change from 50 percent off to 25 percent off for airport employees.

We want to give airport employees a better transit experience, which is why our innovative GO fare pilot is being extended to January 30, 2025. Choose GO Transit for your daily work commute as an alternative to driving, and save 25 percent off regular PRESTO fares on eligible GO trips. By using PRESTO, you can save even more when connecting to or from GO Transit with co-fares from participating transit agencies.

The Airport Employee GO Transit Fare Pilot Program is managed at the UP Express service counter located in Terminal 1 on the Arrivals level. Learn more and/or register for the program at the UP Express service counter.

How to participate in three easy steps

To participate in the Airport Employee GO Fare Pilot, you must register for a special PRESTO card. Follow these easy steps:

  1. Visit the UP Express Service Counter in Terminal 1 (Arrivals Level) to enroll into the Airport Employee GO Fare Pilot and designate a PRESTO card to the program. You can use your existing PRESTO card or apply a new card.
Note: The PRESTO card used for the program can only be used for GO Transit trips to and from the airport. If you use GO Transit outside of work trips to and from the airport, please purchase a separate physical card or register for a free card in Google Wallet or Apple Wallet.
  2. Go to prestocard.ca to load funds onto the card. The discount concession will be added to your account as part of your registration described in step 1 above. Note: you can also sign up for PRESTO autoload to ensure you have money on your card when you need it.
  3. Tap your designated PRESTO card on green PRESTO devices when commuting to and from the airport on GO Transit. Be prepared to show your airport identification and PRESTO card if requested by GO staff. Visit gotransit.com/presto for information on how to travel on GO with PRESTO.
