I Dreamed I Could Fly
A pioneer of installation art in the 1970s and 1980s, Jonathan Borofsky’s large-scale sculptures can be experienced in public spaces around the world.
In I Dreamed I Could Fly, Borofsky explored the idea (or dream) of human flight. The installation consisted of five colourful figures suspended under a skylight. Each figure’s posture suggests motion which, combined with their translucent materiality and emphasized by the natural light, gives the installation an overall sense of weightlessness that viewers can associate with the act of flying.
