Dr. Edward Wasser
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Edward Wasser joined the Greater Toronto Airports Authority as Chief Medical Officer in October 2020, following more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and VIP protective medicine. Dr. Wasser is the Medical Director for the Prime Minister of Canada's Protective Detail of the RCMP and has been responsible for emergency support for the last four Prime Ministers and is the Medical Director for the RCMP National Tactical Medicine Program. He is the Clinical Lead for the Executive Health program at Cleveland Clinic Canada.
Dr. Wasser was awarded the Queens Jubilee Medal in London, England for his medical care for Canadians internationally, and the McMaster Alumni Gallery lifetime achievement Award for his lifelong commitment to healthcare. He founded Medevaq, which repatriates Canadians who become sick or injured abroad.
Dr. Wasser received his Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, a Master’s Degree in Counterterrorism from the London Metropolitan University in London England and a Harvard Fellowship Certificate in Disaster Medicine, Executive Healthcare and Dignitary Protective Medicine.
