A founding member of the Canadian abstract group, Painters Eleven (1953-1960), Kazuo Nakamura’s geometric paintings and sculptures are highly regarded among the most distinctive abstract works in twentieth century Canadian art.
Nakamura’s Galaxies is a site-specific sculpture commissioned by Toronto Pearson. His artwork was often inspired and informed by science, time and space, and he described himself as seeking a "fundamental universal pattern in all art and nature.”
